Cold War

The Cold War somewhat relates to pre World War 1. Before World War 1 started there was a lot of focus on building up a army. In fact everyone in Europe was looking to have a war. Everyone wanted the latest and greatest war productions. Because everyones focus was mainly on building up their army, it relates to the Cold War because it was all talk. What I mean is that between the Soviet Union and the United states there was the continuing of political conflict, military tension, and economic competition existing after World War II. Like Pre-WWI everyone was ready to get into another war because they wanted to show off how great they were. Tension like this happens in history due to the urge to demonstrate their countries strength. 

What I've Learned

My research on World War II evidently opened my eyes to the significance of this war. How deep the war goes is unmeasurable. One thing that captured my eyes was the role America took in the war. I used to think that America was one of the first to enter the war but in fact the remained neutral for an extended period of time due to their focuses on their problems at home.

I used to think that the Nazis were just the main problem and that they were just horrific people but when you look deep into the war, everyone played a part in the inhumane acts that took place in World War II. America played a big role in these acts by prisoning Japanese people in America, and by taking the world into a new age of warfare known as Nuclear Warfare. By dropping a nuclear warhead on Japan they had killed 90,000-166,000 in Hiroshima and killed 60,000-80,ooo Nagasaki.

In conclusion, when researching World War II I was able to learn more deeply about the war. I was able to experience a deep understanding of what it was like to live in that time.

World War 2 and me

I don't know much about World War II. The most I know is that Germany was the bad guys in numerous occasions and that America (Like Always) were the good guys. Adolf Hitler lead Germany to become a "Greater Germany". Germany not only lead a war but back home they created one of the greatest massacres to their Jews. Leading a mass genocide against the Jewish people known as the Holocaust. 

What I would like to know about the war is something different from the Holocaust. I think I've essentially learned enough about the genocide. I would like to learn more about the war itself. I don't really know too much about it. I'd like to know who was involved and what Germany's main plans were. Not only that but I'd like to know where America comes into play with World War II.

Munich Agreement

I believe that the Munich agreement was a bad thing because by signing the agreement with Germany, it allowed them to do whatever they want. Sudentenland was of great importance to Czechoslovakia and by signing that over to Germany, it emerged as a failed appeasement because Germany went on to do whatever they wanted to. When Britain and France gave the Sudentenland to Germany, it was implied that they allowed Germany to take over all of Czechoslovakia. The Munich agreement was essentially a bad thing due to the fact that Czechoslovakia wasn't even invited to the conference. Not only was it Czechoslovakia exclusion from the conference that lead to them being over powered by Germany but it was a combination of Germanys geography and demography that allowed them to take over all of Czechoslovakia. 

Cabaret

When taking notes about about Berlin's atmosphere the common idea is poor people wating to bring down the communist. This is interesting because at the end of the play you notice that the Nazi start to gain the poor peoples support. And we know that the Nazis are labeled as "A group of hooligans that only serve a purpose of bringing down the communists". When looking at the Cabaret the only important idea to remember is that life during that time was depressing so you go to the Cabaret to have fun. When the Nazis meet the Cabaret at the end of the movie, the idea that they try to express by showing Nazi commanders sitting in the stands, is that slowly but surely the Nazi's are gaining control.

Fascism And YOU

The Taliban is a group of Sunni Islamic people who locally fight a guerrilla war against the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan. There have been many descriptions for the Taliban such as violent, sexist, a group of people who focus on restoring tradition to their people, and belligerent. Although they fit all of these meanings I wouldn’t go as far to say that they are a new form of fascist people. The Talibans main goal is to restore balance (tradition) in their society and by that they focus on the determination of Western Influence. Their way of doing that is a form of sexist, and intimidating acts. The one thing that keeps me from saying that the Taliban are fascist is their lack of government focus. Fascism focuses on control of people through the government while the Taliban focuses on controlling people through brute force. Their control of government can be called totalitarianism. Political authority has absolute control over individuals in their government or state. The reason the Taliban cannot be categorized as fascist is because their interest does not include a totalitarian right-wing nationalist regime.

Young Ottoman v.s. Old Ottoman

The Ottoman Empire in the 16th and 17th century went through great change in the Ottoman Empire in the 19th and 20th century. One thing that changed was the diversity of the state. In the past they had a more muslim established state but they would go on to have Turkish people and mostly non-muslims. Because of this change in diversity they were able to set laws and principles that were not muslim based. Along with these changes in principles was the influence of western knowledge. While the "Young Ottomans" focused on the influence of western knowledge, the "Young Turks" would start a reform that would eventually allow the state to become a democratic state. Overall since their plummet in the 17th century the Ottoman empire has turned their approach to governing they have flourished and become a better ran state.

Cambodia v.s. China

The Mreah prew tree in cambodia is one of its many resources that's causing a lot of problems today for its use to make high concentrated oil called safrael oil. This seamlessly harmless oil is actually in fact the main ingredient in the process of making ecstasy. Like China in the 19th century, ecstasy is slowly tearing the country apart do to its addictiveness and its attraction of smugglers. In the 19th century opium was the cause for Chinas economic and political fall. The opium not only had its nation under its control but it caused a powerful Britain to take advantage of them. We're seeing a similar case in Cambodia but the only thing that's different between these two cases is that the situation in Cambodia wasn't even near as bad as Chinas case. China went from having a rich economy to having it crumble before their eyes, and from having a well ran political system to having it too crumbling.
