Treaty of Versailles

The treaty of Versailles was very onesided. Germany got terrible terms in the treaty, as they had to pay billions of dollars. They also had to shut down their army making them vulnerable to future attacks. The treaty of versailles hurt Germany the eventual instigator of future world problems. In the treaty of Versailles, Germany was said to be the cause of the great war. This is just another example of how the winners get to rewrite history in their favor or against their opponent.

  1. I totally agree that this is another example of the winner being able to rewrite history. While it's very unfair from a neutral perspective to shove the blame onto the back of another country that is no more responsible than the rest, it's very useful - as the victor - to be able to designate the enemy as a scapegoat in order to promote patriotism and recognize a single source of the war that can be recorded in history.

  2. I agree with your final sentence. The winners do and should get to rewrite history in their favor or against their opponent.
