Berlin: The atmosphere in Berlin was filled with economic tension and social instability which drew people towards things like escapism and the caberet.
Nazis: The Nazi's began as a small group of unpopular activists that did "the dirty work" but snowballed into an uncontrolled fascist movement.
Caberet: The caberet is all about escaping reality, it distorts what's actually happening and makes it entertaining so the world seems manageable and people can feel somehwat in control.
