This is an important question because it will give us insight to why the author may have written this book. It also might if there were any other reasons the government banned the book, such as the authors religion, etc.

This question is an important one that should be considered, but I do not think a simple "what" question is the most important thing to be asked for research on this topic. A question like "Why has the book banning occurred" would be more insightful because it would answer your original question but also give you a more broad span to research so you could find details such as the benefits and disadvantages of this event.
