Internal Structure of a State
In my opinion, the most important thing in having a strong state is a sense of unity between the people of the state under a leader or government. When people are patriotic because they are happy with their way of life, but they still strive to make it better, it creates a feeling within the community that has the opportunity to make or break the state. Similarly, if people are tied together by the same cultural backgrounds, the same history, and the same religion, things tend to run more smoothly, strengthening the community. However, through a leader or the form of government, strong political and military decisions have to be made. While the social aspect is necessary, without a leader or a government to unite the nation with a purpose, nothing can be achieved. A strong driving force from the nation and cooperation from its citizens affect the nation's strength and power to expand.

Robby,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more about the importance of unity. This is something that is very important when trying to create a strong state. This idea I feel is more compelling, even then what I wrote about: the importance of agriculture. Without a sense of unity, a state has rebellion and disorder that leads to deterioration of the state. Unity is in fact the most important thing in the structure of a state.
